Welcome to Restore UK

Restore UK was established in 2001 as a grant-making charity to invest in the protection and restoration of Britain's natural habitat.

Featured Project

Dundreggan Estate - ancient woodland preservation

An opportunity arose in 2005 for Trees for Life (an award winning Scottish charity) to have first refusal on the Dundreggan Estate in Glen Moriston just south of Glen Affric. Restore provided a contribution towards the purchase of this important estate. A five year practical action plan has now been devised for the estate and in early 2008 Restore has provided some funding for this important next step.

News Update

New baby water voles in Barnes, London

Baby water voles have been sighted at the Restore-funded Water Vole Conservation project at Barnes Wildfowl and Wetlands Trust site in London. A new burrow has appeared close to the feeding platform – as shown on the water vole page.

The project introduces conservation areas to promote the recovery of water vole populations that have declined by over 94% in the last century.

I think the environment should be put in the category of our national security. Defence of our resources is just as important as defence abroad. Otherwise what is there to defend?
